The rise of the neurodiverse child

Rich and I have long thought that Minky was on the spectrum somewhere, following Richs diagnosis a few years ago it made us reconsider that Minkys behaviour was perhaps not just your normal naughty 2s stage of life and that maybe there was something else going on, as she took it to the next level! I don't like to refer to it as 'an issue' or 'problem'. Minky is unique and individual - just like every child. Her behaviour is not a problem or an issue, providing those who work with her recognise how she ticks and then deals with her accordingly.

School mobile phone ban

Did you see the documentary with Matt and Emma Willis recently regarding the impact of our children's use of mobile phones? It really was a fascinating watch. When put into context we are robbing our children of their childhood. With many parents giving their child a mobile phone at the age of 10/11 thus giving them an unlimited access to a world of information. Giving them the ability to see things not appropriate for their eyes, wanting as many 'streaks' as possible, getting 'likes' for photoshopped photos. Giving them a false sense of reality that they really cannot comprehend.

Easter Holidays

Wow where did those two weeks go? Plenty of melt downs but lots of quality time and productive improvements! Cannot believe how awful the weather has been though! Still a better easter break than last year where we managed to breakdown on the way to an inflatable theme park, the lawn mower broke, then Marnie broke her arm. So I had high expectations for this years break!
